London, June 14, 2026: A 26-year-old Indian-origin man was tragically killed in a knife attack in Southall, west London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

The victim has been identified as Gurbhej Singh, who was fatally stabbed on North Road near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane shortly after midnight. A second man, believed to be in his 30s, was also injured during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment before later being discharged.

Indian-Origin Man Stabbed to Death in Southall

According to the Metropolitan Police, officers responded to reports of a stabbing after being alerted by the London Ambulance Service. Emergency responders reached the location and found two injured men at the scene.

Despite efforts from paramedics to save him, Gurbhej Singh died from his injuries at the scene. Specialist officers are currently supporting his family as the investigation continues.

Police believe the attack took place outside a shop at around 12:30 am and have appealed to witnesses and anyone with CCTV footage from the area to assist with the investigation.

Seven Men Arrested Following London Stabbing

Following the incident, seven men between their early 20s and late 30s were arrested on suspicion of murder.

After further investigation, six of the suspects were released without further action, while one man was released on bail and is expected to return for additional questioning at a later date.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command said detectives continue to investigate the tragic death and urged members of the public who may have witnessed the attack or possess CCTV recordings to come forward.

Following Gurbhej Singh’s death, a fundraising campaign has been launched to support expenses related to repatriation, legal documentation, transportation, and funeral arrangements.

The campaign has already received thousands of euros in donations from hundreds of supporters, reflecting widespread support from the community and well-wishers.

Rising Concerns Over Knife Crime in London

The fatal stabbing has once again highlighted concerns around knife-related violence in London. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances behind the attack and are seeking additional evidence to determine the events leading to Gurbhej Singh’s death.

The Metropolitan Police has requested anyone who was in the Southall area around the time of the attack or has relevant CCTV footage to contact investigators.
